Welcome

Hello there, I'm glad you're here.
Because there are so many ideas about how we should live and what we should do with our lives, I really want to offer time when people can connect with what is right for them.
Whether you have a goal in mind or have no idea where to begin, I'm glad to start wherever you are.
If you have questions about anything at all, or want to have a conversation to get a feel for me, then please get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
About Me
Some time after having my own counselling, which felt so valuable and fascinating to me, I applied to do a counselling skills taster course. From the very first exercise, I was hooked. I went on to study a variety of therapies, but became particularly persuaded by the Person Centred Approach, with its commitment to freedom, and trust in human beings’ capacity for healing, development, and problem-solving. In practice, this means I am especially committed to supporting your unique way, as opposed to steering you to follow particular paths or expecting you to fit a theoretical ideal of what a human being ought to be.
I have experience of working with adults of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds, genders, and neurotypes, with a wide range of experiences. My way of working can be helpful for all people, no matter what their background or history. Things I have a particular understanding of are (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties; short-term psychosis and manic episodes; religious or spiritual trauma or abuse; faith shifts and deconstruction; struggles with creativity, meaning, and purpose.
My training in Integrative counselling and psychotherapy took four years, and since then I am glad to continue my personal and professional learning and development. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their codes of ethics. I meet monthly with my clinical supervisor and engage regularly in my own personal therapy as a means of growth and to keep my work to a high standard.
I have worked and volunteered for organisations offering counselling and support to people who have struggles with addiction, and people who have experienced sexual abuse. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in a variety of jobs including child and adult care, hospitality, and being a postie.
When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, I still love exploring life’s depth and breadth through nature, reading, writing, music, food, and time with loved ones.
